Oak Ridge – Robert A. Seeley, 72 years, passed away at his home on Sunday, October 21, 2018.

He was born on February 20, 1946 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Ann (nee Masker) and Robert A. Seeley, Sr.

Bob married Brigitte (nee Muller) on June 21,1969 and resided in West Paterson until 1971 when they moved to Hopatcong, NJ where their two children were born. The family moved in 1997 to Oak Ridge, NJ (Jefferson Twp,) where they have resided until each of their passing.

In 1963 Bob graduated from Keel United States Naval Recruit Training Center, Company 422, in Great Lakes, Illinois and went on to proudly serve in the US Navy during the Vietnam War from 1963 and honorably discharged in 1967. During his time of service Bob earned a National Defense Service Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal.

Bob became a volunteer fireman with the Jefferson/ Milton Fire Company No.1. in 1977, and was active for over 30 years on their search and rescue team, and remained an honorary member until his passing.

For over 30 years Bob was a proud member of and dedicated his time to the American Legion Post 423 in Milton, NJ (Jefferson Twp.).

In his spare time, Bob’s passions were primarily hunting and fishing, but he also enjoyed playing pool and golf. However, ever the giver, his recent years were devoted to Sussex County Habitat for Humanity.

Bob was predeceased by his beloved wife Brigitte and his brother Billy.

He is survived by his loving sons Sean Seeley and his wife Celeste Luciano-Seeley of Sparta, NJ, and Jason Seeley of Texas; his cherished grandchildren Tyler and Casandra Seeley, and Wilfred Schenkel; and his siblings Florence, Sylvia, Richard and John.

A memorial visitation will take place on Saturday, November 3, 2018 from 10am to 1pm followed by a memorial service at 1pm at the Stickle-Soltesz Funeral Home, 187 La Rue Road, Newfoundland, NJ 07435 (For GPS use 1 Post Place).

The family would like to invite those who attend the memorial service to join them for lunch at 2pm at {Portofino Ristorante, 5129 Berkshire Valley Road, Oak Ridge, NJ 07438.

In lieu of flowers memorial checks may be made out to Sussex County Habitat for Humanity, 82 Mount View Street, Newton, New Jersey 07860.
