Eunice Ann Seely, 66, of Shawneetown died 9:35 p.m. Jan. 31. 2002, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville, Ind.

She was a former Home Bureau adviser and retired from the Gallatin Democrat newspaper.

Mrs. Seely was born Dec. 11, 1935, in Texico to Earl and Lillian (Lorenzen) Meyers. She married Daniel Edgar Seely Sept. 22, 1962; he died April 11, 1997.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Shawneetown. Father Mark Stec will officiate. Burial will be at Immaculate Conception in Shawneetown.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown, with prayer service at 6 p.m.

Mrs. Seely is survived by two nephews, Donald Seely and wife, Sharon, of Ridgway and E.T. Seely Jr. and wife Barbara, of Eldorado; two sisters-in-law, Betty Seely of Ridgway and Vina Seely of Monticello, Ind.; brother-in-law Norbert Seely of West Branch, Mich.; and several cousins.

Mrs. Seely was a graduate of MacMurry College. She was an active volunteer of the Shawneetown Boosters Club. She was a member of the American Cancer Society and the Shawneetown H.E.A. Unit. She was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Shawneetown, where she formerly served as a lector and on the Parish Council.

Mrs. Seely was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Church or the American Cancer Society.

Vickery Funeral Chapel is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
