Seely, Dorothy B., Bergen: November 13, 2011, Age 86. Wife of Richard S. Seely of Bergen; mother of Blaire (Frederick) Giancursio of Bergen, and the late Grant R. Seely; grandmother of Kristina Giancursio and Joseph Giancursio, both of Bergen, and the late Grant T. Giancursio; sister of Ernest Bennett of Lansing; aunt of several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Calling 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Tuesday at H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 51 S. Lake St., Bergen where services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Bergen Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 428, Bergen, NY 14416 or Stone Presbyterian Church, 7549 S. Lake Rd., Bergen, NY 14416 or to the Bergen Public Library, P.O. Box 430, Bergen, NY 14416. Burial will be in Mt. Rest Cemetery.

Dorothy B. Seely

Bergen – Dorothy B. Seely, 86, of Bergen, a Librarian at Bergen Public Library Aide prior to her retirement, died Sunday, November 13, 2011 at Blossom South Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Rochester.

Mrs. Seely was born December 3, 1924 in Palmyra, a daughter of the late Earl and Mae (Dedie) Bennett.

She graduated with a B.S. in Elementary Education from Brockport State College, taught in the Byron-Bergen, Elba and Clifton Springs School Districts and was a member of Stone Presbyterian Church, Bergen Triangle Club and a former member of the Bergen Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was an avid reader and she enjoyed crafts and travel.

She is survived by her husband, Richard S. Seely; a daughter, Blaire (Frederick) Giancursio of Bergen; two grandchildren, Kristina Giancursio and Joseph Giancursio, both of Bergen; a brother: Ernest Bennett of Lansing; several nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews.

She was the mother of the late Grant R. Seely, grandmother of the late Grant T. Giancursio; sister of the late Leonard Bennett and Esther Pembroke and sister-in-law of the late Esther Bennett, Eleanor Bennett and Galen Pembroke.

Friends may call on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 51 S. Lake St., Bergen, where services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bergen Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 428, Bergen, NY 14416, or Stone Presbyterian Church, 7549 S.
