Visitation: Noon until the 2 p.m. service Wednesday in Ball Club Assembly of God Church in Ball Club, Minn. Burial in Olivet Cemetery in Morse Township.

Darwin Wright Seely, 69, Deer River, died Sunday, May 24, 1998, at Deer River. He was born April 4, 1929, at home in Wadena-Lyons Township, the son of George and Alice Seely. He served in the U.S. Army as a cook in Lebanon for the M.P. and Germany Stugard. He married Doris Verbeck on June 14, 1971, in Cass Lake. Together they ran a farm and milk route in Sebeka. In 1975, they moved to the Grand Rapids area where he worked for the Marcell Sawmill until his retirement. He is survived by his wife, Doris; a special daughter, Twilla Cooper, children, Lawrence and Tuesday Cooper, all at home; a son, William Rawlings, Staples; his mother, Alice, Grand Rapids; four sisters, Lauretta Braford, Pillager, and Waneta Hoopman, Jane Hoopman and Judy Peck, all of Grand Rapids; and three brothers, Larry Seeley, Bovey, Bruce Seeley, Deer River and Erlyn Seely, Cohasset. Preceding him in death were his father, George; three sisters, Naomi Braford, Florence Smith and Laura Adams, and six brothers, Perry, Jess, Phil, Paul, Harvey, and Melvin. Funeral: Wednesday, May 27, at 2 p.m. at Ball Club Assembly of God Church, Ball Club. Burial: Olivet Cemetery, Morse Township. Arrangements by Carroll Funeral Home, Deer River.
