Brenda L. Seely
Brenda L. Seely passed away at 12:30 a.m. on Dec. 2, 2006 at her home surrounded by family, after nearly two years battling cancer. Brenda was born Dec. 5, 1960 in Council, Idaho, to Lyle D. Kopejtka and Karen M. Adams. They moved to Nebraska in 1961 and back to Idaho in 1966 where she lived the rest of her life. Brenda attended grade school at Whittier and Maple Grove, then South Jr. High and graduated from Borah High School in 1979. After graduation, Brenda worked at Fish and Game for two years. She then started working for the U.S. Postal Service in 1981, and continued working for them until the summer of 2006. Brenda had just received her 25 years of service award in April 2006. She was very active in community involvement with the U.S. Postal Service, which included floats for the Holiday Parade, the Festival of Trees and more. Brenda loved children and just adored her nieces and nephews, and her friends children too. She was all of their “favorite” aunt.
Brenda married Kevin Seely on Aug. 12, 1990 and happily became an instant mom to Rochelle and Alesha Seely. They were the center of her life. Then she was blessed with a daughter of her own, Kayla Lindsey Seely, born Jan. 26, 1994. Brenda and Kevin later divorced but remained good friends until his death in April 2000. Brenda enjoyed vacationing with her daughters, collecting dolls, Santa Clause’s, decorating for the holidays and spending time with her family and friends. One of her last requests was to go on a cruise, which she was able to do in June 2006, with her family and friends. We will all cherish the many wonderful memories.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents Art and Hazel Johnson and Bert Kopejtka, and her former husband Kevin Seely.
She is survived by her daughter Kayla Seely, step-daughters Rochelle Seely, Alesha (Bryan) Faddoul, granddaughter Baily Faddoul, mother and step-father Karen and Leroy Adams, father Lyle Kopejtka, sisters Kim Steffens, Tammy (Chad) Weaver, Berna (Dan) Bassett, Dot Kopejtka, brother Lyle Kopejtka Jr., step-brothers Mike (Mary) Adams, Ric Adams, step-sister Laura (Dan) Hendrix, many neices, nephews and great friends.
Memorial services will be Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2006 at 4:30 p.m. at Summers Funeral Home, Ustick Chapel located at 3629 E. Ustick Rd., Meridian, Idaho. A special thank you to Rachel and St. Luke’s Hospice, and Kathy Crawford for helping the family with her care.
