Aggie Seely

Aggie Seely, 95, of Olney, died on Sunday, February 9, 2020 at Aperion Care in Olney, IL.  Aggie was born on February 12, 1924 in Olney, IL, the daughter of Clayton and Hazel (Smith) Gibson.  She married Dale Seely on July 29, 1941 in St. Charles, MO and he preceded her in death on February 23, 1987.

Aggie and her husband, Dale, co-owned the Olney Greenhouse with Dale’s parents. She also ran the West Salem and Albion flower shops with her husband. Aggie was a beautician and had her own beauty shop and after Dale passed away she worked at Diel’s Flower Shop. Aggie was an avid quilter and crocheted and knitted items for the family. She was active in her church, First Assembly of God in Olney. Family was a priority to Aggie, especially her grandkids and great grandkids.

Aggie is survived by her son, Alan Seely and wife Mary of Chesterfield, MO; son, Robert Seely and wife Naida of Paducah, KY; grandchildren, Mark Seely and wife Tricia of Union, MO, Darren Seely and wife Maggie of Maryland Heights, MO, Ashley Ward and husband Jonathan of Cuba, NY, and Kelly Seely and wife Janice of Frankfurt, Germany; 10 great grandchildren; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Bill Gibson and brother, Paul Gibson; brother in law and sister in law, Wayne and Lenora Seely.

Memorials can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at the Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home with a visitation beginning at 2:00 PM.  Burial will take place on Monday, February 17, 2020 at the Maple Dale Cemetery in Olney.
