Wilsye Elizabeth Seeley says vows to Mr. Roberts in rites in Alabama

Wilsye Elizabeth Seeley and Jack Randall Roberts were united in marriage Sunday, August 21 in a 3 p.m. ceremony performed at the First United Methodist Church in Centre, Alabama with the Rev. Sammy Stabler officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frederic R. Seeley III of Centre (Mrs. Seeley is the former Willette Curtis of Winona), and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack B. Roberts of Riverdale, Georgia.

Nuptial music was performed by Mrs. Jane Curry, Pianist; Mrs. Jane James, organist; Theresa Stewart, soloist; and Ric Seeley, brother of the bride and soloist.

Given in marriage by her mother and father, the bride was lovely in her white gown of silk organza trimmed in silk brocade.  The molded bodice was appliquéd in double organdy embroidered flowers and had a cameo portrait neckline and Juliet sleeves.  The hem of her floor length skirt was trimmed with the silk brocade and formed a cathedral train.  Her short veil of illusion fell from a Juliet cap and was edged with the matching silk brocade on her gown.  She carried a bouquet of pink sweetheart roses.

Angel Seeley served her sister as maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Lou Ann Ray, Laura Lowe, and Phyllis Fox.

They wore floor length tiered chiffon sun dresses in pastel colors and picture hats covered in matching chiffon.  Each carried pastel daisy nosegays.

Mothers of the bride and groom wore floor length pastel dresses.  Their corsages were of gardenias.

Jack B. Robert was his son’s best man.

Grooms were Phillip Roberts, brother of the groom; Charles Stinson, David Bradley; and Joey Hampton.

Jr. Groomsmen were Vann and Bill Seeley, brothers of the bride; and David Roberts, brother of the groom.

Candlelighters were Mark Roberts, brother of the groom and Mitch Stewart.

The reception was held in the fellowship hall of the church.

The rehearsal was hosted by the groom’s parents at the Cherokee County Country Club for the families and wedding attendants.

Following their wedding trip to Gulf Shores, the couple will reside in Centre.
