Nannie LaFae Squires, 80

A service for Nannie LaFae Squires, 80, Durant, who died Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2004, at Life Care Hospital in Plano, Texas, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Dalton-Holmes Funeral Home. Rev. Phillip Rowland will officiate.

She was born Thursday, April 24, 1924, in Irving, Texas, to William Jackson and Nannie Vienna (Jayroe) Seelye. She married Jennings Russel Squires June 29, 1942, in Dallas, Texas.

She was a bookkeeper for 31 years and a telephone operator during World War II, O.E.S., Dallas. She came to Bokchito from Plano, Texas, in June 1977. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed cooking.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years.

She is survived by her daughter Barbara Jean Squires, Irving; sons William Russel Squires, Sunrise, Fla., and John Brandon Squires, Durant; sister Leta Mae Purl, College Station, Texas; grandsons Michael Paul Squires, Sunrise, Todd Darnell, Azle, Texas, and Timmy Darnell, Mesquite, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Burial will be in Norwood Cemetery in Hearne, Texas, with Bubba Allen, Tommy Allen, Bill Wetzel, Steve Johnson, Brandon Wetzel, Craig Allen, Shawn Seelye, Chad Seelye, Howard McKenon, Don Luster and Gene Smith serving as pallbearers.

Family hour is today from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Dalton-Holmes Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
