Patricia J. McDermid (Vogel) Seeley

ALBANY Patricia Joan McDermid Seeley of Albany, passed away peacefully Monday, November 9, 2015, at the St. Peter’s Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was born Patricia Joan Vogel in Gloversville, daughter of the late Edward H. and Margaret A. Vogel. Pat lived in Albany most of her life, graduating from Vincention Institute, class of 1948. With her family, she relocated and raised her children in Phoenix. Upon returning to the Albany area she was employed by the New York State Division of Military & Naval Affairs, retiring in 1993. Pat was the beloved wife of the late Leonard T. Seeley. She is survived by sons, Michael P. McDermid (Stephanie) of Las Vegas, Robert J. McDermid Jr. and Stephen McDermid of Phoenix; daughter Kelly Ann McDermid of Phoenix and eight grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Richard D. McDermid and daughter, Cheryl L. McDermid. Pat took great joy in her children and later in the lives of her grandchildren. She was the past president of the senior group at the Towers of Colonie and enjoyed bowling and crossword puzzles. “Joan” as her Vogel family called her enjoyed the rounds of golf played with family and friends and she always looked forward to special gatherings and reunions with family. Her caring and concern for others was known by all. Pat is survived by sisters, Margaret Mulroy (late Jack), Joyce Martin (late Thomas), Jean Vogel, Carol McClone (Jerry); brothers, Richard (late Phyllis), Edward (Helen), Thomas (late Nancy), Robert (Maryanne), William, John (Carolyn), David (Josephine) and Donald Vogel (Geri); many nieces, nephews and cousins survive. She was predeceased by her brother, James J. Vogel. Patricia’s family would like to thank all who responded with their heartfelt thoughts and prayers during her recent illness and to especially acknowledge the care and compassion shown by the staff of St. Peter’s Nursing & Rehabilitation Center and the Community Hospice. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Pat’s family Thursday, November 12, 2015, from 4 to 7 p.m., in the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen Street, Albany. Family and friends are also invited to gather at the funeral home Friday, November 13, 2015, at 9 a.m. and proceed to the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery for a 10:30 a.m. service.
