Myrtle I. Seeley

Myrtle I. Seeley, 606 South A. St., died early Sunday at her home.

She was born June 11, 1891 at Latham, Kan., to James Madison Brewer and Ida Mae Starks.

She was married to Ray Seeley on April 7, 1912, in Arkansas City.  They operated Seeley’s Music Store from 1925 until 1966 when they retired.  He preceded her in death Sept. 12, 1967.

She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, the Johnson Guild, the V.I.P’s, and honorary life member of the Arkansas City Music and Dramatic Club, and a member of the Golden Agers.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Chester (Geraldine) Blair, 1025 N. Third St., and Mrs. Ray (Ernestine) Clark, 511 South A St., three sisters, Mrs. Alice Squier, Dover, N.H., Mrs. W.A. (Nancy) Hutton, Mission, Kan., Mrs. Edgar (Margaret) Hurt, Lamar, Colo.; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be June 2 at 10:30 a.m. in the First United Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. Reinhold Schmidt Jr. officiating.  Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

A memorial has been established with the radio ministry of the First United Presbyterian Church.  Contributions may be left at the church office or at the Erdman-Oldroyd Funeral Chapel.

Myrtle I. Seeley

Services for Mrs. Myrtle I. Seeley, 606 South A St., who died Sunday in her home, were at 10:30 a.m. yesterday at the First United Presbyterian Church.  Burial was in Riverview Cemetery.

The Rev. Dr. Reinholdt Schmidt Jr. officiated.  Organist was Mrs. Wayne Lambert.

Casketbearers were Tom Pringle, Lester Neal, Mike Trollman, George Sybrant, Dr. G.S. Remsberg and Merton Darnall.
