Maria Stamatis Seeley
Further solidifying that 2020 is the worst year in memory, Maria Seeley (nee Stamatis) died suddenly on September 27 at the age of 72. Maria was the best mother to Stephanie Hathaway (Brent), Stacy Seeley, and Adam Seeley (Meredith). She is predeceased by her parents, Peter C. Stamatis and Kay Stamatis. Loving sister of Tina Johnston (Larry), Patti Zubay (Joseph), Mark Stamatis (Debbie), and Peter Stamatis (Bobbie). Proud grandmother to Alexa Hathaway (9), Harper Seeley (6), Xander Hathaway (6), Emerson Seeley (4), and Charlotte Seeley (1). Loving cousin and aunt, former wife of Robert. Maria was an avid Indians fan and a dedicated life member and current President of the American Legion Auxiliary Hellenic Unit 453. Maria is certainly angry that she died before she could vote against Donald Trump and see him out of office. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2 at 11am to 1pm at St. Paul Greek Orthodox Church, 4548 Wallings Rd, North Royalton, followed by Interment at St. Theodosius Cemetery. We will plan a Celebration of Life ceremony in the future when it’s safe for everyone to get together. No flowers please. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in her name to the Cleveland Food Bank. And do a good deed for someone in Maria’s honor today.
