Mrs. Maria Seeley Dies Monday in Canton, N.Y.

Mrs. Maria Seeley, wife of the late Edward Seeley, died at the home of her niece, Miss Eva Spaulding in Canton, N.Y., Monday.  Mrs. Seeley suffered a shock of paralysis and broken hip 6 years ago.  A year later she went to the home of her niece, Miss Spaulding, where she has been tenderly cared for.  The body arrived here Wednesday accompanied by Miss Spaulding.  The funeral will be held at the Congregational church this afternoon at 2:30 o’clock.  The Rev. H.C. Newell will officiate.  Burial will be in the Central cemetery.

Mrs. Seeley was born in Canton, N.Y., July 19, 1844, the daughter of Joseph and Anna Benton.  When 11 years old she came to the home of her sister, the late Mrs. J.W. Holiday where she made her home.  Mr. and Mrs. Seeley were residents of Munger street for many years where Mr. Seeley was engaged in farming, later moving to this village to the home now occupied by Ray Britell.  Mrs. Seeley was a devout member of the Congregational church.  She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
