James A. “Artie” Seely

James A. “Artie” Seely died Dec. 13, 1991, in Eureka at age 76. A native of Arcata, he was a resident of Eureka.

Artie loved the North Coast. His greatest joys were long walks on the beaches, the rivers and near the waters of Humbolt Bay. All his life he loved dogs. His family always came first. He was a hard worker, honest to the bone and generous to a fault.

He is survived by his son, Kent Seely and his wife, Sue, of Eureka; his son, Richard Seely and his wife, Doris, of Crescent City; his son, Curt Seely of McMinnville, Ore.; his son, Steve Seely and his wife, Wende, of Cameron Park; his daughter Debbie White and her husband Ron, of Eureka; his daughter, Jane Howard and her husband Tim, of McMinnville, Ore.; his brother, Elmo Seely of Eureka; his sister Ollie Kahn of San Lorenzo; his grandchildren, Forrest, Lauren, Kory, Kacey and Noelle Seely, Patty Eichin, Angela and Curtis Seely, Adam Howard, Jill Schwake, Lindsey and Keith White; his great-grandchildren, Heather and Craig Eichin and Blaine and Jarred Schwake; numerous nieces and nephews including Steve Kahn; and close friends Ralph Snyder and Bill Zeigler.

Friends are invited to attend memorial services at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at Chapel of the Ferns, Cooper Mortuary with Mr. Bob Allwine officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park.

Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Ferns, Cooper Mortuary, Eureka.
