SEELY, Jack W. – In Oakland, suddenly, August 2, 1991; loving father of Brad W. Seely of Reno, NV., and Elisa-Marie Seely of Australia; loving brother of Ralph Seely and his wife, Barbara, of Salt Lake City; he is also survived by eight nieces and nephews and many good friends; Mr. Seely was preceded in death by his son, Lance in 1973; his life long love of the air and sea led to many wonderful adventures; he was the flight engineer with Pan American Airlines on the original exploratory flights across the Pacific; he served with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict; as a civilian he flew transports for the U.S. Air Force; the holder of a Master Pilots license, he piloted the yachts of many notables in waters around the world; a long-time resident of Alameda, he was vice president of Ballena Bay Harbor in Alameda; was a member of the Encinal Yacht Club; the president of the Alameda Swim Club (AAU), the Alameda JayCees, Alameda Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis Club, and the Soaring Society of America; he was formerly employed with the Kaiser Permanente Medical Centers and currently worked part time at Union Machine Works of Oakland; may he rest in peace.

Friends are invited to attend Memorial Services Thursday, August 8, 1991, at 3:30 o’clock P.M. at Christ Episcopal Church.  Remembrances to your favorite charity preferred.  His ashes will be scattered (buried) at sea.
