Eli Seely, 64, Retired Jerome Grocer, Dies

Eli Seely, 64, of Jerome, retired groceryman and painter died in his home Thursday morning after a lengthy illness.

He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Lee Seely and lived his entire life in Jerome township.

He was a member of the Rainbow Division of World War I, Marysville Chapter of V.F.W., a 25-year-member of the Hiram Lodge F.&A.M. of Delaware, and the Scottish Rite of Columbus.

Besides his wife, Nellie, he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Evelyn June Yochum, of Georgia; four step daughters, one step son; two grandchildren and 13 step grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Elise Dyer of Plain City Rt. 1, and Mrs. Irene Rowling, of Plain City, and one brother, Thad Seely, of Jerome.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Paul R. Ferguson funeral home, 240 N. Chillicothe st. Plain City, with the Rev. George Reed officiating.  Burial will be made in the Jerome cemetery.
