Eddie Pierce “E.P.” Sealy Jr.

RALPH Eddie Pierce “E.P.” Sealy, Jr., age 87, of Ralph, died July 26, 2011, at home. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Wyatt Rhone officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.

E.P. was born January 5, 1924 in Tuscaloosa County to the late Eddie and Gertrude Sealy.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Ella Pierce Sealy.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Sarah Nell Sealy; sons, Bruce Sealy and Barry Sealy (Regina) of Ralph; grandsons, Dusty Sealy (Kimberly) and Chase Sealy; and great-grandchildren, Kalin Sealy and Kensie Grace Sealy.

Pallbearers will be Dusty Sealy, Chase Sealy, Lawrence Fair, Temple Fair, Frank Spencer, Scott Renn, and Walton Park.

Honorary pallbearers are Cindy Trawick, Leigh Harbin, Freddie Coleman, Chaplain Damon Rose, Amedisys Hospice staff, and residents of Fosters, Ralph, and Shiloh communities.

He was a lifelong resident of the Ralph community. Mr. Sealy served in the United States Army during World War II. He retired from B.F. Goodrich after 39 ½ years.

He accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior at a very early age and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Ralph. E.P. enjoyed riding his tractor and working in his shop. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mr. Sealy was a Godly man and a faithful servant who loved the Lord with all his heart, strength, and mind. He left a legacy of unconditional love for his family and will forever be in our hearts.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Bethel Baptist Church in Ralph or to Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
