David M. Seelye

David M. Seelye, 41, of 731 Oakwood, East Lansing, died at the Grayling Hospital Thursday.

A lifelong resident of Lansing, he was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and a Past Deacon of the Church and a Past Deacon of the Church.  He graduated from Sexton High School, Albion College and Wayne State University Law School.  He practiced law in Lansing for 13 years and was a member of the law firm of Denfield, Timmer and Seelye.  Prior to this, he was associated with his father in the law firm of Seelye and Seelye.  He was a member of the Ingham County Bar Association, the Michigan State Bar Association and the American Bar Association.

He was a member of the Lansing City Club and a member of the Board of Directors of the Symphony Association and Board of Directors of Michigan Children Aid Society.  He was on the Board of Directors of the Michigan Oil and Gas Association and was Secretary of Petroleum Landmen and on the national Board of Directors.  He was a veteran of the Korean war.

Surviving are his wife, Martha J.; two sons, David Martin, Jr. and Douglas Morgan, both of East Lansing; two daughters, Sharon Kay and Debra Lynn, of East Lansing; his mother, Mrs. Mabel I. Seelye of Lansing; one brother, Wilber M. Jr. of East Lansing and one sister, Mrs. Douglas (Sylvia K.) Hill of Indianapolis, Ind.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Estes-Leadley Colonial Chapel.  Memorials may be made to the Heart Fund.
