Alfred Thomas Seeley

 ALFRED THOMAS SEELEY was born December 5, 1893, in the little town of Hensonville, New York, located in the heart of the Catskill Mountains. He was son of George C. and Elma Louise (Stimpson) Seeley, both natives of the Catskills. Alfred married on June 1, 1935, in Grand Forks, North Dakota, Florence Micken. They lived in Burbank, California.

His early years were spent in hotel management, in teaching, and as a forester. In the 1950’s he studied psychology at USC, and took three years of therapeutic counseling instruction at L.A. State College, entering private practice in this field in 1962. His favorite avocation was genealogy.

During World War I he served in France with the 54th Regiment, Battery F, C.A.C. He was a member of several veterans’ groups, and was active in the formation of the Burbank United Patriotic Organizations, of which he was President at the time of his death on February 18, 1971.

For two years he was Assistant Secretary and Assistant Genealogist of the Sons of the Revolution. In 1971 he was elected Assistant Historian. He was a member by right of being fifth in descent from Private George Stimson, who was a Minuteman and who marched on the Lexington Alarm.

His son, Alfred R. Seeley, is a member of the S/R.
