Seely – Bachman Nuptials In Ulysses Methodist Church
Miss Nancy Jane Bachman and Claude Orlo Seely were united in marriage Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the First Methodist Church of Ulysses.
The Rev. Paul Cope performed the double-ring ceremony for the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James R. Bachman of Ulysses RD 1, and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Orlo Seely of Montrose RD 5.
Organ music was played by Mrs. John Lucas and Mrs. LeRoy McCaslin. Mrs. Leonard George sane “Love Divine, All Love Excelling” and “The 23rd Psalm.”
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor-length gown of silk organza timed in Chantilly lace and seed pearls and train of self-same materials. She had a full-length veil with flowing train and carried a cascade arrangement of daisies.
Miss Suzanne Tomb was maid of honor and bridesmaids were Miss Catherine Bachman and Miss Halima S.A. Giumale. The attendants were attired in floor-length gowns of two-tone blue taffeta with flowing trains of self material. They had matching headdresses with veils and carried white baskets filled with pink daisies.
Both mothers wore blue street-length dresses accented with pink corsages and white accessories.
Giles Seely was best man for his brother and guests were ushered by Benjamin and Johm Tomb, brothers of the bride.
A reception attended by 110 guests was held at the home of the bride’s parents.
For a wedding trip to Black Lake, N.Y., the bride selected a pink suit and hat complemented by a white corsage and accessories.
Both the bride and bridegroom are graduated of Mansfield State College and will be teaching in the Potter County School system at the Austin Elementary School. During the summer they will be living at Montrose.
