Joyce S. Carstensen, 66, 617 Madison, died Friday at St. Peter’s Hospital.

She was born in Virginia City, Mont., Feb. 9, 1905 to J.Bradley and Lenore Seeley.  (should be Seely)  She came to Helena as a young girl and attended schools in Helena.

She was married to Richard J. Carstensen in June, 1927, who preceded her in death in July 1930.

Mrs. Carstensen was employed by the Union Bank & Trust Co. for over 32 years before retiring in July, 1967.

She was a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Cathedral and the Josephine Hepner Order of Eastern Star No. 89.

Survivors include a son, Richard J. Carstensen, Billings, one daughter, Mrs. William H. Watt, Palo Verdes, Calif.; one brother, J. Bradley Seeley, Whitefish; three sisters, Mrs. James Casteel, San Diego, Calif., Mrs. Stewart Odom, Long Beach, Calif.; and Mrs. Thomas Johnson, Helena; and nine grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Herbert Smith.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. from St. Peter’s Cathedral.  Burial will be in Forestvale Cemetery.

Pallbearers are F.M. Gannon, J. Bradley Seeley, Thomas C. Samson, James O’Connell, Richard R. Samson.  Retz Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
