Inez M. Dyster-Clark, 97, of Forest Grove died Saturday, June 19, 2004 at the Jennings-McCall II Assisted Living Center in Forest Grove.

Private Interment will be held at the Eden Cemetery in Roseburg.

Mrs. Dyster-Clark was born March 24, 1907 in Cambridge Springs, Pa., to John Q. and Lillian (Colvin) Seely. She was raised and educated in the Cambridge Springs community.

She attended LaSalle University, where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. She worked as a Nursing Home Administrator in Detroit, Mich., and later in California. She worked for Smith Kline Instrument Company in Palo Alto, Calif. She also worked for Gould for eight years.

She married Veikko Johanes “John” Dyster in 1925, making their home in Michigan and later California until 1973, when they moved to Roseburg. Mrs. Dyster-Clark was preceded in death by her husband in 1979 after 54 years of marriage.

In 1982, she married Theodor Clark in Roseburg, where they made their home, until he died. Following her husband’s death, she continued to make her home in Roseburg until May of l994 when she moved to the Masonic and Eastern Star Home in Forest Grove.

She was a member of the Methodist church and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Roseburg.

She enjoyed oil painting, interior decorating, knitting sweaters, crafts and ceramics. She also enjoyed playing cards games, especially pinochle.

Mrs. Dyster-Clark was also preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Shirley Byford, in 1996.

Survivors include her daughter, Betty L. Tooley of Waldport, brother Raymond A. Seely, four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

The family suggests remembrances may be contributions to the Masonic and Eastern Star Home Endowment Fund, 2221 Oak Street, Forest Grove, 97116.
