Genevieve May (Seeley) Davenport

Genevieve May (Seeley) Davenport, age 77, of Meadville and a resident of Rolling Fields Nursing Home passed away peacefully on Monday, March 26, 2018. Genevieve was born October 4, 1944 at the Country Hospital in Geneva, PA to Harold Preston Seeley and Sophia Sophronia (Mathers) Seeley of Conneaut Lake. She was preceded in death by her first husband Lester Henry Fronce, with whom she had 3 children, and her life companion and husband Dorr Leo Davenport. She attended Conneaut Lake schools. Over the years she worked at Snyder Chair Factory, Talon, and retired from a custodial position at Cambridge Springs Elementary. Genevieve was a hard worker, maintaining full time employment while also working a second job as a housekeeper for many local families. She attended Bethel Life Worship Center in Greenville, PA. Genevieve and Dorr were active attendees of several local clubs including the VFW, Eagles, Vernon Township Fire Hall, and the American Legion. She enjoyed camping, dancing, playing cards, slot machines, traveling, and bowled in several leagues over the years. Genevieve was a woman of integrity, full of laughter and mischief. She loved spending time with her family, and friends. She loved caring for her little doggies Casey and Lucy. Genevieve is survived by two daughters Kathy Hamilton and her husband Brian, of Meadville, and Deborah Fronce of Meadville; a son, Chris Fronce and his wife Tracy, of Conneaut Lake. She has 9 grandchildren: Jason Fronce and his wife Dawn, Tera Hamilton, Amber Hamilton Staff and her husband Andrew, Jennifer Hamilton Reitz and her husband Terrell, Karl Hamilton and his wife Marissa, Lashondra Fronce and her fiancé Seth Thompson, Megan Fronce, Emily Fronce, and Sarah Fronce; eight great grandchildren Riley Fronce, Samantha Fronce, Rosie Staff, William Staff, Pippa Genevieve Staff, Matilda Staff, Natalie Reitz, Brendan Reitz and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by one sister Betty Seeley Shay, and five brothers: Wayne, Robert, Harold Jr, Theodore and Dwight.

Friends may call Saturday, March 31, from 2 to 4 pm at Bethel Life Worship Center, 246 South Mercer Street, Greenville. A celebration of life service will be held immediately following the calling hours at 4 pm at the church with Pastor Kent Bell and Pastor James Fleck co-officiating.
