Age 85, of Addison, passed away on Monday, December 3, 2012, at the Hospice of Lenawee Hospice Home in Adrian, MI. She was born on March 22, 1927 in Ada Township, Kent County, MI to Howard and Lula (Sharp) Seeley. She married Robert Folkert on September 7, 1951, and he preceded her in death on October 26, 2011. She lived with her faith placed in the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior from her sins. One of her favorite Bible verses is Ephesians 3:20, which from The Living Bible (paraphrased) reads “Now glory be to God who by his mighty power at work within us is able to do far more than we would ever dare to ask or even dream of – infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, or hopes.” Throughout many years, she served as a pastor’s wife, as her husband served various churches in Iowa and Michigan. She was a graduate of both Hope College and Siena Heights College (now University). She received a B.A. degree in Social Work from Hope College, with a minor in Religion. While she worked at Addison Products, she went to Siena Heights College & received her B.A. degree in Accounting. She was a member of the Addison Congregational Church. She enjoyed her family and her family enjoyed her. Genevieve is survived by her children, Susan (William) Trebilcock of Coldwater, Philip (Jeannine) Folkert of Hudson, Sally (David) Frautschi of Blissfield, Polly (Raymond) Kowalka of Grand Rapids; grandchildren, Rebekah, Michael (Amber), and Ryan Folkert, Andrew and Samuel Frautschi, Matthew (Theresa) Kowalka; and great-grandson, Paxton Folkert, and a sister, Margery Rudolph of Chattanooga, TN. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Hendricks. The family is planning a private memorial service. The family wishes to thank Hospice of Lenawee for their kindnesses and good care. Arrangements are entrusted to the Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home in Addison.
