Emma I. Bronson, Carbondale, died Saturday evening at the home of her granddaughter, Nichole Laub, after an illness.  She was the widow of James Bronson Sr.

Born in South Canaan, daughter of the late Wesley J. and Mary Hoadley Seeley, she attended the South Canaan Free Methodist Church.

Surviving are four sons, James Jr. and Arthur, both of Waymart, and Sherman and Conrad, both of Honesdale; five daughters, Maryann Robinson, Waymart; Roberta Kellogg, Connecticut; Laura Mostowski, South Canaan; Debra Kennedy, Carbondale, and Sabrina Loscig, Honesdale; a brother, Robert Seeley, Equinunk; two sisters, Shirley Ornick, Heddinite, N.C., and Mildred Evarts, Scranton; 29 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Emma; a son, Stanley; two grandsons; five brothers, Harold, Leroy, Raymond, Lawrence and Gerald Seeley; and three sisters, Beatrice Robinson, Margaret Field and Ann Seeley.

The funeral will be Wednesday with services at 10 a.m. in the James Wilson Funeral Home, Route 296, Gravity Road, Lake Ariel, by the Rev. William Rushik, pastor, South Canaan Free Methodist Church.  Interment, East Canaan Cemetery, South Canaan.

Friends may call Tuesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
