Mrs. Doris A. Callaway, 59, of 135 N. McKinley Ave., died unexpectedly late Tuesday afternoon.  She had suffered from a heart condition for some time.

Mrs. Callaway was to have been recognized at an awards banquet this evening for her more than 300 hours of volunteer service to the Veteran Administration Hospital.

She was born Jan. 30, 1909, in Climax, a daughter of Rule and Carrie (Murray) Seeley.

She was married to Roy D. Callaway Nov. 4, 1930.

Mrs. Callaway was a member of the Central Christian Church, the Loren Club, the Mothers of World War II and of its past presidents’ club.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Miss JoAnn Callaway at home and Mrs. Clive (Marguerite) Raymer of 3629 S. Drive N.; three sons, Dennis C. Callaway of Fair Lake, Delton, James M. of 3901 S Drive N., and Ronald L. of 496 Morningside Drive; nine grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Ketchum of Lacey and Mrs. Marguerite Bracey of Kalamazoo.
