William D. Seeley

VAN ETTEN – William D. Seeley, 78, Van Etten, died Tuesday, March 17, 1998 at the Tioga Nursing Facility in Waverly, NY.  He was born February 17, 1920 in Sayre, Pa., the son of the late William & Laura (White) Seeley.  He was also predeceased by a brother, Edward Seeley.

William had served with the US Navy during WWII.  For many years he worked as a Realtor in the Candor, Spencer, and Van Etten areas.  He was a member of the Waverly American Legion Post #492, F&A Masonic Lodge #290 of Spencer, Spencer Fire Department, Spencer Sportman’s Club, and St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Candor.

William is survived by his wife, Irene (Decker) Seeley, Van Etten; son and daughter-in-law, Albert & Carole Seeley, Dallas, TX; 2 grandsons, Trevor and Brent Seeley, Dallas, TX; several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be Friday March 20th from 7 to 9 p.m. at Allen-Manzer Funeral Home in Spencer.  Funeral services will be Saturday, March 21st 11 a.m. at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Candor with Rev. Lewis E. Coffin officiating.  Interment will be in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA.  Memorial donations may be directed to: St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 14, Candor, NY 13743 or Alzheimer’s Association, Southern Tier Chapter.
