Walter S. Seely

Walter S. Seely died at Pine Island Tuesday, November 13, in the 61st year of his age.  He had made his home with his son, Walter S. Seely, the village merchant, for about three years, being in feeble condition.

Deceased was born at Summerville, between Florida and Chester, the son of James S. Seely and Helen A. (Sayer) Seely.  During his business career he had been located at Goshen and Middletown, and was at one time in New York city.

He is survived by four children, Walter S. Seely, Bessie and Helen, all of Pine Island, and Harry, representing the Travelers Insurance Company at Montreal.  He married Elizabeth Knapp, daughter of James Knapp, of Pine Island,  She died in this city about 15 years ago.  Henry B. Seely, merchant at Goshen, is the surviving brother.

The funeral was held on Thursday at the family home, at Pine Island, and was largely attended by relatives and the community around that section of the country, and was in charge of Rev. A.E. Chamberlain, pastor of the Florida Presbyterian Church.  Burial in the family plot in Florida Cemetery.
