Viva M. Seeley

Viva M. Seeley, 92, of N. 14th St., Coshocton, died Sunday, March 31, 1991, at Coshocton County Memorial Hospital, after a brief illness.

Born Jan. 31, 1889, in Jackson County, she was a daughter of the late George and Elizabeth (Badders) Riley.

She owned and operated a confectionery store in Roscoe several years ago.

She was a member of the West Lafayette United Methodist Church.

Seeley was a past member of Business and Professional Women’s Club, current member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post 2040, Disabled American Veterans, Gold Star Mother, past president of the State of Ohio Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary and was active in scouting.

On May 5, 1946, she married Herbert Seeley.  He preceded her in death July 3, 1981.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Forest (Audrey) Darr of Warsaw, Mrs. Clarence (Eileen) Mainwaring of Coshocton and Esther Riggs of Houston, Texas; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

A son and three brothers are deceased.

Services are 1 p.m. Thursday at the Given-Dawson Funeral Home in Coshocton with the Rev. William Norman officiating.  Burial will be in Roscoe Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the West Lafayette United Methodist Church.
