Memorial services for Sharon Kay Seeley, 62, of North Bend, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Nelson’s Bay Area Mortuary.  Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Nelson’s Bay Area Mortuary.

She was born Sept. 16, 1936, in Algona, Iowa, to Robert M. and Lois (White) Brayton.  She died Jan. 19, 1999, in Coos Bay.

She was an accomplished singer and was a specialty singer with Art Butterfield, as well as Bill Riley’s radio contest on KRNT in Des Moines, Iowa.

On Christmas Eve in 1957, she married Robert L. Seeley.  They made their home in Des Moines until moving to Salinas, Calif., in 1977.

She was a mother and homemaker and was the president and cofounder of the Salinas Chapter of Tough Love.

In 1990, they purchased their home on the bay in North Bend.

Mrs. Seeley is survived by her husband, Robert L. Seeley of North Bend; daughters, Pam Arthur of Des Moines and Teresa Seeley of Salinas; sons, Leroy Seeley of Point Roberts, Was., Wesley and Matthew Seeley, both of Alabama; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, Robert Brayton of Des Moines; and sisters Jacklynn Griffin of Arizona, and Cindy Barker and Charlotte Gray, both of Texas.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father last year, and a brother, Bruce Brayton.

Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson’s Bay Area Mortuary.
