Sandra S. Seely, 66, Lapwai

Sandra S. Seely passed away peacefully and painlessly after a courageous battle with cancer Monday, Jan. 26, 2004, at her daughter’s home in Lewiston.

Sandy was born in Nezperce Oct. 5, 1937, to Charles Clayton and Edna Alice Billow Call, who both preceded her in death.

Her brother, Cary Call, was born on her second birthday, making this the most special gift she ever received. He and his wife, Venita, and their families survive her.

Her school years were spent in Seneca, Ore. She graduated from John Day High School in 1955. After high school she worked for Hines Lumber Co. in Burns, Ore., where she lived with Joanna Seely Corson and met and fell in love with John (Jack) Seely, Joanna’s brother.

She and Jack were married in Reno, Nev., Feb. 5, 1959. In December 1966, they moved to Lapwai, where they purchased PK’s Place. They have resided there and worked and enjoyed life since.

Sandy leaves behind one son, David and Julie Seely; and two daughters, Robin and Steve Topp and Tammy and Gary Robinett. She also has seven grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Sandy enjoyed many activities: fishing, reading, playing cards, cooking, baking and making jelly jam. Her greatest enjoyment was time spent with her grandchildren. In the past several years, she enjoyed spending time at the casino visiting her many friends and testing her luck.

At Sandy’s request, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life dinner will be held in her honor from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Church Hall in Lapwai. At the family’s request, please send memorials to St. Joseph Family Hospice in Lewiston.
