Ruth A. Seely

Ruth A. Seely, age 94 of Portage MI, passed away Sunday, January 20, 2013 at the Good Shepherd Hospice Home in Seabring, FL. She was born June 8, 1918 in Bangor, MI the daughter of Oliver J. and Mamie (Barkle) Hosier. She graduated from Breedsville School as the only senior. She retired from Van Buren ASCS (Agricultural Stabilization Conservation Service), Department of Agriculture. She was a member of the Simpson United Methodist Church of Bangor and was a Sunday School teacher; past matron and life member of the Golden Rule Acacia #211 OES, South Haven. Surviving are her two sons, William L. Seely of Frostproof, FL, Robert E. Seely of Portage, MI; three grandchildren, Cindy Lorren of South Haven, MI, Kevin Seely of South Haven, Lori Weber of Holland, MI; six great grandchildren; brother, James (Theresa) Hosier of South Haven. She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy in 1997 (co-owner of Arlington Heights Fruit Farm); her parents, brother Ernest (Frances) Hosier of Kalamazoo and a brother-in-law, Maxwell Seely of Bangor. People considered her a classy lady and fun to be with. Service in Florida and in late May in Michigan. Memorials may be made to either the Simpson United Methodist Church, Shriner’s Children’s Hospital or Hospice.
