Ross E. Seeley, 83, son of Harrison & Garnett (Erb) Seeley, was born November 9, 1932 in Casey, Iowa. He passed away Monday, August 29, 2016 at the New Homestead, Guthrie Center, Iowa.

Ross attended Guthrie Center schools. He served in the United States Army from 1951-1953 during the Korean War and was stationed in Germany. Following his discharge, he worked at various different jobs. He married Martha Stanley in September of 1953. They later divorced in early 1955. He married Diane Farnham in June of 1955. They were divorced in November of 1968. In 1960, Ross went to work for Firestone in Des Moines for 35 years. Ross married Carolina Carper on July 2, 1974. He retired from Firestone in 1995. In retirement, Ross went to work for Gilson Construction in Guthrie Center until his health wouldn’t allow him to continue. Ross became a resident of the New Homestead in Guthrie Center in April of 2013.

Ross enjoyed flying airplanes, riding his motorcycle, taking vacations on his motorcycle, bowling, and playing Bingo.

He was a member of the Omar B. Shearer Post #124, Guthrie Center, the Audubon American Legion Post #120, and the Odd Fellows Lodge.

Ross is survived by his wife, Carolina Seeley of Panora; sons, Douglas Seeley of Des Moines; Clint Seeley of Des Moines; Patrick (Dawn) Seeley of Des Moines; and Michael (Missy) Seeley of Saylorville; step-son, Ron (Kristi) Carper of Menlo; step-daughters, LaVonne (Kyle) Morris of Colorado Springs, CO; and Arlene (Randy) Harwood of Monteith; Ten grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; sisters, Roberta Snyder of Yale; and Dolly (Robert) Hayes of Guthrie Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughters, Elizabeth & Janet, sister Norma Wright, and brother Robert Seeley.

Memorial services will be 2:00 P.M., Friday, September 2, 2016 at the Twigg Funeral Home, Panora. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial of his cremains will be at a later date in Union Cemetery, Guthrie Center.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the New Homestead, the New Beginnings Open Bible Church in Stuart, Iowa, or the First United Methodist Church in Guthrie Center, Iowa.
