Rose G. Walcheski Seeley

July 10, 1918 ~ June 30, 2018 (age 99)

Rose G. Seeley, 99, of Canton, PA, widow of Herman, passed away peacefully Saturday afternoon, June 30, 2018 at the Bradford County Manor, just a few days shy of her 100th birthday.

Rose was born in Armenia Township on July 10, 1918.  She was a daughter of the late John and Anna (Kutz) Walcheski.  On Dec. 11, 1937 Rose married H. Herman Seeley in Canton.  Together they owned and operated a dairy farm near Minnequa Springs in Canton Twp. until 1965.  Herman then established an excavating business before they retired in 1993.  Rose was a private, hard-working person who was a great help to her all husband’s endeavors. In addition to being a busy farm wife, she was a fabulous cook.  She grew strawberries, tended large vegetable gardens yearly and canned.  Rose also liked to crochet, she made hook rugs and grew many houseplants.  As long as Rose’s health permitted, she took in and cared for family members who could no longer do for themselves.

Surviving are her daughter, Linda (Robert) Griffin of Canton, grandchildren, Michele (Steve) Deeghan, Mark (Stacy) Griffin, George Jr. (Luann) Seeley, Jack (Tina) Seeley, Allen (April) Seeley, special great grandchildren, Tyler, Nathan, Kyle and Kelsey, also many great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband H. Herman on May 25, 1996; a son George Seeley Sr., grandson Scott Seeley and six siblings; Bertha Elsbree, Clara Walcheski, John, Vince, Theodore and Frank Walcheski.

In keeping with Rose’s wishes, services will be private.  Burial will be in East Canton Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, consider memorials to Western Alliance EMS at P.O. Box 13 Troy, PA 16947.

Pepper Funeral Home and Cremation facility, 578 Springbrook Dr. Canton, is assisting the family with arrangements.
