Ronald H. ‘Pops’ Seeley, 74, Retired surveyor for G.D. Houtman

Ronald H. “Pops” Seeley, 74, of the Glen Mills section of Thornbury, died Feb. 20 at Lankenau Hospital.

Born and raised in the Drexel Hill section of Upper Darby, once known as Addington, Mr. Seeley lived in Glen Mills for almost 50 years.

He was a surveyor for G.D. Houtman in Media for 44 years, retiring in 1997.

An avid music lover, Mr. Seeley played the accordion, mandolin, organ and piano, especially at family gatherings with his brothers and cousins.

Mr. Seeley was known for caring for his lawn and riding his tractor. However, living on Stoneybank Road in Glen Mills, he was mostly known by all truckers for waving to them as they passed by.

He was son of the late Edward and May Plumley Seeley. He also was predeceased by 10 siblings.

Survivors: Wife of 54 years, Janet E. Kershaw Seeley; daughters, Debbie L. Baldini of Glen Mills, Bonnie J. Kashishian of Houma, La., Karen A. Sisto of Aston; brothers, Henry Seeley of Morton, William Seeley of Daytona Beach, Fla.; three grandchildren; one great-granddaughter.

Service: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Road, Bethel.

Visitation: 9:30-11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Burial: Edgewood Memorial Park, Glen Mills.
