ROBERT SEELY SR.

ACTING FIRE MARSHAL, 50 Robert Seely Sr., 50, of Trevose, a water company employee who had devoted much of his time to volunteer firefighting and community service, died on Friday at the St. Mary Medical Center, in Middletown Township, Bucks County, after suffering a cerebral hemorrhage.

He was the acting chief fire marshal for Lower Southampton Township and had been the deputy fire marshal for the last 16 years.

In addition, he was the township’s emergency management coordinator.

Mr. Seely was a member and had been chief of the Trevose Fire Company. He also had served on the company’s executive board, having been a member for more than 30 years.

His related memberships included the Bucks County Firemen’s Association; Keystone Fire Chiefs Association; Firemen and Oilers Union; Bucks County Fire Chiefs Association; Pennsylvania Association of Fire Investigators; National Association of Arson Investigators; and the Bensalem Township Association of Fire Companies.

Born in Abington, Seely was raised and educated in the Trevose area and for the last 25 years was an operator for Philadelphia Suburban Water Co.

He is survived by his wife of many years, Merry Baier Seely; children, Robert Jr., Theresa and Catherine; a brother; and a grandchild.

Friends may call after 10 a.m. today at the Trevose Firehouse, 4900 Street Rd. (Route 132 west of Old Lincoln Highway), in Trevose. A funeral will be held at 1 p.m.

Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, 333 W. County Line Rd. (east of Pine Road) in Feasterville.
