Richard, 64, of Pensacola, FL passed away on July 21, 2011 in the tender care of Baptist Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.

Richard was born on November 9, 1946, in Pensacola, FL. He left his hometown shortly after attending Pensacola High School to enlist in the U.S. Air Force. He served 4 years of active duty as a Military Police. After serving his country, Richard, returned to his hometown where he spent more than 30 years serving and protecting the citizens of Escambia County, where he rose to the rank of Patrol Captain. He retired from ECSO in 1993 and relocated to Olney Montana with his wife and children. Shortly thereafter he returned to his love of law enforcement and joined the Clumbia Falls Police Department, later transferring to the Whitefish Police Department. Besides being a devoted husband and father, he was an expert tree surgeon owning and operating Seely’s A+ Tree Service.

He is preceded in death by his father, Henry Seely, and mother, Vernice Seely.

He is survived by his two sons Richard Gray and Joeseph Henry Seely, daughter Jennie Lee Seely, and step-son James Chandler Lindsey. Also survived by sister Ilene Rushing, brothers Herb and Vince Seely, many nieces and nephews and the very best friend a man could have – Danny Lodge.

Memorial Service will be from 3:00-5:00pm, July 24, 2011 at Faith Chapel North.
