Rhuby Jean Seely

 Passed away on December 21, 2008, at Spring Lake Village, after a seven-month battle with brain cancer. She was 88. Born in Kansas City, MO, on July 13, 1920, Jean was raised in Madison, WI. She was the adopted daughter of Oscar and Pearl Kline. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, where she met and later married Leslie B. Seely, Jr., her husband of 64 years, and who predeceased her on March 1, 2007. Jean and Leslie lived in Los Alamos, NM, from 1944 until 1964, where they raised two sons, Leslie, III of Cotati, CA and Thomas of Chico, CA. In 1964 they moved to Menlo Park, CA, where Leslie worked for Stanford Research Institute and Jean worked for a jewelry store. She loved travel, art and music; she and Leslie lived in Italy in 1984 and 1985. In 1986 they moved to Spring Lake Village in Santa Rosa, CA, where they spent their remaining years. She was always a curious, interested and liberal thinker who delighted in the election of President-elect Obama. Jean is survived by her sons, their wives, and three granddaughters. The family will hold a private memorial service, but no other formal ceremonies are planned.
