Randolph Seeley, 49, State Employe, Dies
Randolph M. Seeley, 273 Water Street, died Thursday afternoon at 5:46 o’clock in Geisinger Hospital, Danville, where he had been a patient for the past few days. He had been in failing health for several years and was hospitalized on several occasions. Death was due to complications. He was 49 years of age.
An ardent fisherman he spent much of his spare time at his favorite sport along the Susquehanna River. He was born June 12, 1906, in Northumberland, the son of Myron S. Seeley of 273 Water Street and the late Edith McPherson Seeley.
He had been employed as a clerk in the Pennsylvania Bureau of Revenue at the capitol at Harrisburg for a number of years and was a member of the Northumberland Methodist Church and the Men’s Bible Class. He was also a member of the Northumberland Boat Club. A lifelong resident of Northumberland, he had attended the local school and had a host of friends. He was an ardent fisherman and spent much of his spare time in that sport.
In addition to his father, a Spanish-American War veteran and retired Pennsylvania Railroad engineer, he is survived by two sisters, Mabel, wife of Herbert E. Diehl, 354 Front Street and Mrs. Alfred G. Benson, Jr., of York.
Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 11 o’clock from the R.L. Davis and Son funeral home, King and Water St. Rev. Bart E. Crites, minister of the Northumberland Methodist Church will officiate and burial will take place in the family plot in Riverview cemetery. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home Sunday evening.
