Henrietta Seely, 96, of Liberty Missouri, died Saturday, September 1, 2007, at Liberty Hospital. Memorial services will be 10:30 AM Wednesday at Second Baptist Church, 309 E. Franklin St, Liberty, Missouri. The family will receive friends in the Assembly Room at the church, Tuesday from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. Mrs. Seely’s cremains will be buried in Crown Hill Cemetery, Excelsior Springs, Missouri following the memorial service.
Henrietta was born October 10, 1910 in Ray County, Missouri, the daughter of Patrick H. and Martha Elizabeth Duncan Smith. She was reared in Ray County and Excelsior Springs area. On June 15, 1927, in Excelsior Springs, she married Harvey F. Seely. In 1939, they moved to Liberty, where she has lived for the past 68 years. Mrs. Seely worked as a receptionist for Mr. Frank Miller, a local insurance and property developer, for 18 years, retiring in 1985. She was a former member of the Rebecca Lodge and a member of Second Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and five sisters, as well as an infant son, William Francis and her husband Harvey F. Seely, who died in 1968. She is survived by a son, Harvey Seely and his wife Susi, and a daughter, Norma James, all of Liberty; 9 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren.
