Harry Sothard Seely

Harry Sothard Seely, 82, died Nov. 20, 2001 at his home in Vancouver.

Sothard was born Aug. 30, 1919 in Cottage Grove, OR, worked for Fred Myers as a warehouse fork lift operator, and lived in Vancouver since 1968.

Seely served in the U.S. Army for 10 years, and in the Air Force. He served in World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #179 in Park Rose. He was a member of Eastern Star in Washington and Oregon, and other fraternal organizations. He was involved in youth groups associated with the Masons. He loved to go camping with his grandchildren.

Survivors include widow Janie Seely, daughters Judith Paul and Barbara Kotey, both of Vancouver, sisters Dorothy Godfrey and Margaret White, both of Oregon, seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Davies Cremation & Burial Services was in charge of arrangements.

Vancouver – A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. at Vancouver Funeral Chapel for Harry Sothard Seely, who died at home Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2001. He was 82.

Mr. Seeley was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and the Korean War.

He worked for Fred Meyer as a warehouseman, driving a fork lift. He retired about 1980.

Mr. Seely was born Aug. 30, 1919, in Cottage Grove, Ore., and lived in Vancouver since 1968.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Janie M., at home; two daughters, Judith A. Paul and Barbara Kotey, both of Vancouver; two sisters, Dorothy Godfrey of Sutherlin, Ore., and Margaret White of Roseburg, Ore.; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Seely was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Washington and Oregon and many other fraternal organizations, including Masonic Lodge 179 in Parkrose. He enjoyed camping with his grandchildren. Burial will be in Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. Davies Cremation and Burial Services is in charge of arrangements.
