Glenn D. Seely

DIAMOND, Jan. 21 – Belated word has reached Mrs. Thyra Nuhfer of Warren of the death of a relative, Glenn D. Seely of Golden, Okla., which occurred the middle of November 1979. Mr. Seely, a former Wallaceville area resident, fell and broke a thigh just a year ago. He was first in a hospital then lastly in a nursing home.

He was born on the old James Richey farm near Wallaceville on March 25, 1904, second son of J.A. and Bessie Miles Seely. He graduated from the Cooperstown High School in 1924, and later attended the Welsh Business College in Oil City.

Handicapped with a defect of the foot from the time of his birth, he made the best of it and took this problem in a good and acceptable manner. He was employed at the Polk State Institution upwards of 30 years when he retired.

He and his wife, Pamela Davis Seely, resided on Route 62 toward Polk for many years. Then on Spet. 18, 1973, they arrived in Golden, Okla., to spend their retiring years.

He is survived by his wife: a nephew and a niece, Donald Seely Jr. and Barbara Seely, last known of Oneida, N.Y., and cousins from near and far.

Mr. Seely was the last survivor of his father’s family, having been preceded in death by three brothers, Donald J. Seely Sr. in 1962, Kenneth R. Seely in 1963 and Harry M. Seely in 1970.
