SEELY, Gary L. “Poncho” age 58, of Dayton, OH and formerly of New Lebanon, OH, passed away Saturday afternoon, May 21, 2005 at his Dayton home. Born September 9, 1946 in Washington Court House, OH to Carl D. & Thelma (Leach) Seely. Poncho was a 1964 graduate of Dixie High School and was inducted into Dixie’s Hall of Fame for both basketball and baseball and was an avid sports fan. He retired after 15 years from the maintenance department of the Dayton Board of MRDD. Preceded in death by father Carl D. Seely. Survived by mother Thelma Seely of New Carlisle, OH: daughter Denise of Virginia: 2 grandchildren: brothers Kenneth R. Seely & wife Gwen of New Carlisle and Roy D. Seely of Centerville, OH: nephew Craig A. Seely & wife Kirsten of Dayton: 3 great nieces: dear friend Ron Petry of Dayton Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, May 26, 2005 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens – 3377 US Rt. 35 – West Alexandria, OH. Pastor Alan Huffman presiding. Friends may call on the family from 12:00 – 2:00 Pm Thursday at the funeral home. If desired, memorial contributions be made to the Dixie Athletic Booster Club. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Interment Preble Memory Gardens Cemetery, West Alexandria.
