Dr. Franklin Lee Seely, PhD, Age 48, passed away September 16, 2011 in West Valley City, Utah. Frank was born September 19, 1962 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Robert and Melinda Seely.
Frank excelled in wrestling and football at Kearns High School and was ASK President his senior year. Frank earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Utah and PhD from Ohio State University. He was an accomplished Organic Research Chemist having worked for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals. His research was published in the Journal of American Chemical Society, 1988; Tetrahedron Letters 1986 and 1993; Springer Verlag, Berlin, 1989; Chem. Chem, Int. Ed. Engl., 1987; and Organometallics, 1986.
Frank was a talented, devoted, and loving son, brother, uncle, and grandson. If you ever needed something Frank was always right there to help and could do anything. He cherished his nephew Nicholas and spent much of his time teaching him about sports, Space and science, usually on the way to Lagoon, the arcade, or the toy store to get the latest Star Wars Lego set.
He is survived by his parents, brother Scott (Kelly) Seely, sister Christine (Jim) Brown, nephew Nicholas Brown, grandma Charlotte L. Seely, great-uncle Richard (Sharon) Seely, Uncle Keith (Shirley) Seely, aunt Jeanny, and many loving cousins. Preceded in death by his grandpa Maurice Arthur Hutchison, grandma Imogene Hutchison, aunt Gwen Flynn, and grandpa Robert Lee Seely.
He will be laid to rest at Eden Vale Memorial Park in Las Vegas, Nevada near his Grandma and Grandpa Hutchison.
