Frank H. Seely passed away July 14, 2009 in Altamonte Springs, Florida. His services will be 1:30 pm Sunday, July 19, 2009 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Spirit Lake, IA. Visitation will be Saturday from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at Turner Funeral Home, Spirit Lake, IA.
Frank was born Sept. 8, 1924 in Fenton, Iowa. He married Verdell Marie Boettcher and they farmed in the Fenton area until 1963 when they moved to Spirit Lake. Frank worked for Berkley Fishing until he retired in 1987. They enjoyed their church, family, hunting and fishing and spending time with their friends Max and TJ.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Clara Seely, his wife Verdell, and his brother Ervin Seely.
He is survived by a son, David Seely (Jennifer) of Boise, ID; their children, Kara Dubin (Ira), Ben Seely (Amy), and Kevin Seely, Tricia Franklin, Heather Foust (Mark) and Megan Franklin; and their 10 grandchildren; a son Kevin Seely (Linda), Urbandale, IA, their children, Michael Seely (Traci), Matthew Seely, Stephanie Petrick and Mark Boggs, and their 4 grandchildren; and a daughter Jeanne Edwards, Altamonte Springs, Fl., and her children, Joshua Edwards (Rebecca) and Isaac Edwards (Courtney) and Jeanne’s granddaughter. Frank is also survived by his sister-in-law, Norma Seely of Spirit Lake, IA and brother-in-law, Wayne Boettcher (Delores) of Fenton, IA.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Frank’s family sends a special thank you to Max and TJ for their many years of friendship to Mom and Dad and to Larry and Ellen for their love and assistance to Jeanne with Dad.
