Mrs. Seely was born March 11, 1921 in Ellendale, the daughter of the late Leu Tyrrell and Loretta Hook Tyrrell. Evelyn was a homemaker who worked from home doing odds and ends of sewing for family and friends as well as building up a sewing customer base. She enjoyed sewing quilts for her children and grandchildren. She loved God and enjoyed life. Evelyn loved playing games, teaching others how to play, collecting things of nature, and spring flowers. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, especially making snowmen, playing badminton, frisbee, ice skating, sledding, boating, etc. She also enjoyed going to NASCAR races and rodeos with her husband. Mrs. Seely was a member of the Smyrna Church of Christ and the Mamie Warren Senior Center in Kenton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Seely; and two grandsons, Nathaniel Seely and Jeremiah Seely. She is survived by her son, Fred Seely and his wife Vaudeen; a daughter, Gerri Palmer; eight grandchildren, Naomi Seely, Joshua Seely, Jonathan Seely, Sean Palmer, Shannon Dennis, Nicholas Palmer, Ashley Ulrich, and Brandy Palmer; and 15 great-grandchildren. A viewing for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013 from 11 a.m. to noon at Smyrna Church of Christ located at 1630 Joe Goldsborough Rd., Smyrna, DE, where funeral services will begin at noon.
