On October 28, 2007, Mr. Eugene Seely, pioneer of Alder Flats passed peacefully away at the age of 103 years. He is survived by five children and their extended families, Dalven (Jeannette) of Grimshaw, Doyle (Lorraine), Bev (Al) Clemmer, Ethel (Carl) Janke, and Dallas (Gloria) all of Alder Flats; three daughters-in-law, Ivy, Louella, and Kathleen. Eugene was predeceased by his wife, Ethel in 1995; three sons, J.L., Larry and Melvoy; five grandchildren; three great-grandsons; one great-great-grandson; five brothers and one sister. A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 3 at 1:00 pm at the Community Hall in Alder Flats. Interment followed at the Alder Flats Cemetery. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Alberta Cancer Foundation, Canadian Diabetes Association or the Alder Flats Cemetery as expressions of sympathy.
