Eliza Weeks “Liza” Seely, of 500 Downs Blvd., widow of Fred Seely, died Saturday, October 7, 2006.
A native of Elizabeth, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Fredrika Suydam Weeks. She graduated from Boston Bouve with a B.S. degree in physical education. She was a homemaker and a former physical education teacher. She was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church and enjoyed bridge, reading and antiquing.
She is survived by daughters, Eliza (Betty) Crosslen and husband, Howard, of Denver, Colo., Edith Schmidt and husband, John, of Savannah, Ga., and Sara Walker and husband, Myron, of Washington, D.C.; brother, Hendryk Weeks of Hendersonville, N.C.; five grandchildren, Eliza Castaneda, Catherine Cavoto, Mara Murphy, Alice Walker and Daniel Schmidt; and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a grandson, Jorma Crosslen; a sister, Fredrika Fisher; and brothers, Edward, Rufus and Jack Weeks.
The family will announce a memorial service at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, c/o Holy Trinity Episcopal Church,193 Old Greenville Highway, Clemson, SC 29631.
