Edna Magdalena Schatz Seely died peacefully at the age of 91 at her home, in Woodburn, Sept. 2, 2015.

She was born on May 20, 1924 in Freeman, S.D. to Annette Keller Schatz and W. Herman Schatz. Edna grew up in Sheridan and worked many years for Cecil Harrison Insurance in downtown Sheridan.

On April 12, 1964 she was married to Norman Blaine Seely at Trinity Lutheran Church of Sheridan and lived the rest of her life in Woodburn.

Edna was a kind and thoughtful soul. She saw the best in everyone. Her thoughtful gifts, her kind words and ability to reflect her interest in what was going on in someone’s life was evident.

She had a wonderful laugh and a sweet smile (she also made a fabulous dish of sweet potatoes!) She was truly a great person who lived a wonderful life. It was a gift to know her.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sept. 15 at Hope Lutheran Church in, Woodburn. Her interment will be at Greencrest Memorial Park, in Sheridan.

Arrangements by Simon-Cornwell Colonial Chapel, of Woodburn.
