Edith Johnson Seely

RALEIGH — Edith Johnson Seely, 88, died Friday, August 9, 2002 at Raleigh Community Hospital.

Born in Raleigh July 17, 1914, she was the daughter of George Henry Johnson and Angeline Hobby Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cameron Seely Sr.

She is survived by her son, Cameron Seely Jr. and wife, Barbara Woodson Seely; granddaughter, Barbara Anderson Seely; numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Seely was an accomplished artist. Many of her works have been on display and won awards at Sertoma Art Center. She was a volunteer and board member for numerous charities in Raleigh and Charlotte including the American Cancer Society, the Heart Association, and Lung Association. She was an active member of the Woman’s Club for many years. She was a life long member of Edenton Street United Methodist Church.

There will be a grave side service Monday, August 12, 2002 at 11 AM at Raleigh Memorial Park.

The family will be at the home of Barbara and Cameron Seely.
