Earl W. Seely

August 13, 1923 – May 21, 2010

Earl W. Seely passed away on May 21, 2010 in Stockton. Earl was born August 13, 1923 in San Luis Obispo, CA to Ethel Orr Seely and Arthur Seely. He had an idyllic childhood growing up on California’s Central Coast. During WWII he trained in the United States, and served overseas with the 401st Bomber Group, 8th Airforce, 94th Combat Wing, 1st Division, and served as an engineer, and top turret gunner for 30 missions. He attended Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo for four years studying Aeronautical Maintenance and Engineering. Earl worked for several agencies for the State of California from 1950 until his retirement in 1983. Earl and his late wife, Marge, moved to Stockton in 2001. Earl enjoyed woodworking, traveling the United States, HO model trains and his beloved accordion music.

He is survived by his children: Richard Seely and wife Julie of Stockton, Janet Dixon and husband Dave of Three Lakes Wisconsin, Carol Seely of Santa Rosa; grandchildren: Cormac Seely of Minneapolis, MN, Brigid Seely of Portland, OR, Kevin Dixon of Nineveh, IN, Garrick Dixon of Three Lakes, WI; and a sister, Miriam Low, of California. His wife, Marjorie Seely precedes him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 17, 2010 at the Evergreen Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park in Lodi. Inurnment at Cherokee Memorial Park will immediately follow services.
